We are investigating a new application scenario in which this display will be part of a heterogeneous product visualization environment, - including standard displays and mobile communication devices. We need to explore the usability that users face.
The project will demonstrate that a tool in the real world can shape a virtual model. The tool will be moved in real space, and change the shape of a model in virtual space. Important issues are the way the tool is operated, determining its movements, and updating the virtual model, accordingly.

Floating wax fabbing is a novel idea for very rapid, temporary 3D printing. The basic idea is to repurpose lavalamp technology and instead of heating the wax uniformly, we heat the wax locally to sculpt shapes.
